HBA was started by Neil England 14 years ago. HBA has won numerous West Sussex Heritage awards as well as RIBA awards. Neil had been a consultant throughout his 45 year career even when he was the owner of one of the most highly regarded ornamental fibrous plaster restoration and manufacturing companies. As a Building Heritage Surveyor Neil has worked on hundreds of Historic Building restoration projects and is highly considered by his peers. Neil is a member of the Building Limes forum and an affiliate member of the I.H.B.C, the Institute Of Historic Building Conservation , a professional body for conservation practitioners and historic building and environment experts. Although a lot of his work is in the South East of England, Neil will take on commissions nationwide.

We will come and see your building and spend an hour with you looking, assessing and understanding your heritage building needs and requirements.
This, along with some photos we take will allow us to give you a decent indication of our possible costs acting for you.
We will leave with you a copy of our small booklet outlining in more detail what we can do for you,with written recent references and our basic agreement.(for new clients only)
Once you have emailed or sent us the signed copy of the agreement we left with you we will make an appointment to do a full visual survey or if needed a full measured and survey with more photos taken.
Neil will come over with some tools to "dig around" and reveal your buildings heritage.
Our in house historian will delve in local records and research your building history, this is often a most interesting part.
We then compile all the information into several documents, mainly a Heritage Statement that we can submit to Planning and Heritage officers at your local authority.
Your building will probably be listed, whether grade 1 or 2 with an asterix * if you wish to make any alterations a listed building planning consent must be submitted.
We will use our Architect to produce the existing and proposed plans if needed and submit all documentation needed to ensure we get you the result your looking for, approval!

We offer a complete interior and architectural design service.
We charged a fixed fee and to save costs Steve our award winning Architectural and interior designer will take a brief and give you exactly what you want.
